"Laurie McClave has been drawing, painting and crafting obsessively since she was a young child. Growing up in California in the 60s and 70s her extended family was full of artists, free-thinking Mad magazine readers and a sprinkling of Catholic comedians. She dabbled in Drama, Clothing design, illustration and sculpture in the 70s and 80s before deciding to really get down and Paint. She decided to put herself back into school and was accepted into The San Francisco Art Institute and while there earned an honors studio spot. Laurie concentrated on figure drawing, painting and printmaking, and received her BFA in Painting in 1994.
After graduating, she exhibited her work around the San Francisco Bay area and did public art projects in the Mission. Laurie then moved to Vallejo, Ca. where she joined the Vallejo artist guild, a non-profit co-operative guild dedicated to revitalizing the arts district in the downtown area. She did regular shows and organized fund raisers as a member of the board. After many years in the Bay area Laurie and her family relocated to the Pacific Northwest where she is currently living in Port Townsend, raising her family and running her growing art business."

5 out of 5 starsThis print is absolutely beautiful, the pictures on Etsy really don't do it justice, I'm so glad I bought it! The paper that it is printed on is also really lovely and really enhances the look and it was very well packaged in a plastic sleeve inside a hard tube, so it arrived in perfect condition. Thank you for sending it so quickly, it's my new favorite artwork I love it so much!

5 out of 5 starsShipped off fast, packaged well. Love these vintage earrings with the screw backing instead of required piercings. Wish more were still made like this. (I have pierced ears but the holes were made when I was a baby so they're too far in and dangling earrings usually sit weird on my lobes.)

Lauries' “Pantheon of Women” is a play on iconic representations of how feminine sexuality in art has been perceived throughout history. Her paintings are suffused with color, symbolism, and animal imagery, and her style leans toward symbolic realism
